while the Unreal Engine has a great reputation for being very realistic looking (despite the name X-D) but physics was often neglected or lacking at all.
not so anymore?
what was great about red faction 1 (THQ (2001–2013)) – you could dig holes into the level/actually alter the level – blow up buildings or dig holes… which in itself was a nice “feature” that sounds especially fun for multiplayer. (the FortNite physics – by the way – ain’t any good as well (based on Unreal Engine 3 – 4) X-D)
In Red Faction Guerilla (once badly named “GTA on Mars” X-) – you can not alter the level – but buildings and cars still have very nice physics
“In each game for the series, an engine called Geo-Mod, short for “Geometry Modification” technology, is present in some form.[1] The Geo-Mod engine enables the player to destroy parts of the walls, floors, and other features of the levels in a non-predefined manner using various explosive weapons. For Red Faction: Guerrilla, the engine, now based on the Saints Row engine” (hence the GTA naming ain’t so wrong X-D (unfortunately))
