usually iphones/smartphones take pictures with 2-3-4-5MByte which can fill your harddisk/webserver pretty fast.
It is wiser to shrink them down before upload. While under Windows i would recommend you http://www.irfanview.com/ Under Linux you can do that with ease 😀
